Google removes PageRank from its webmaster tools
Search engine optimization (SEO) has played an integral role in the development of internet market. SEO gets websites to rank higher in search engine query results.
That’s why it comes as a surprise as Google has removed its PageRank data from its webmaster tools.
PageRank is a critical factor, which is found in Google’s results pages. It is an algorithm that calculates a web page’s importance by giving it a numerical score. Its rank is loosely dependent on the inbound links to a page and the relevance and
credibility of these links.
However, Google has asserted that PageRank is not the most important factor when it comes to SEO. The search engine giant said that one of the main reasons for its removal is the fact that many webmasters obsess over the statistics.
According to sources, Google’s Webmaster Central team felt that it was unnecessary for webmasters to focus on the metrics. So, Google decided to remove it from its tool suite.
