Hello everyone,
As you have noticed, 2Kmegs has been down for quite some time now. We are having issues with getting our httpd service to start up. This is caused by "too many open connections", and is mainly due to spammers. With over 500 accounts created daily, it is hard to track down every single spammer.

Unfortunately, i am going to have to be shutting down 2Kmegs. It has built up a reputation on big spam lists, so that is why most of the users would not receive emails. Since my datacenter, cpanel, or myself cant get this issue resolved, and since i cant provide you guys with 99% uptime, i have to shut down the service.

I appreciate you guys being great members, helping out in the community and so forth. I was looking forward to a great run with 2Kmegs, and i am sorry it has to end like this.

Hi everyone,
Okay i am sure everyone is really confused. First off, let me start by saying i apologize for the past few days of downtime. This was not a hack, or not an attack on our service. What happened was we had too many accounts on our server, 8000 to be exact, so HTTP could not operate due to "too many open connections". A ton (thousands) of those accounts are spam, and we are working on clearing them now from our server. If you notice any spam sites, please report them here. If you google 2kmegs, you can find a ton of spam sites unfortunately.

Anyways, all sites are back online, and so is the mainpage. I am working on the signup page now, and we will soon be having new signup rules. (such as provide a real name not zzzzzz223532, a legitimate web address, etc). All new accounts will now have to be verified, and the instant account verification will be removed. I will keep you guys posted on further news. Again, i am really sorry for the downtime. 2Kmegs promised 99 percent downtime, and we did not provide that this month, so for that i am not happy  :(
